Imagine charging your Electric Boat, Scooter or any other vehicle at your own private solar charge station.
This affordable system consists of a 12V -80W Solar Panel, a 12V-100AH Deep-Cycle Station Battery and a
Controller. It comes in 2 types:
1. AC Type: Its Controller produces 115VAC from the 12V station battery. The scooter or boat is charged,
by their own charger plugged to the controller 115VAC output.
2. DC Type: The controller boosts 12V station-battery voltage to proper levels and charge the vehicle
battery directly. It also controls the scooter battery charge process for its maximum life models for 24V to
72V are available) .
.
Further, an optional Remote Link informs the owner about station or vehicle charge status.
This station is offered as complete kit or just Controller (for customer's panel and station
battery. Controller Price is $189 (single order), Quantity discounts apply
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Solar Panel: nominal 12V, 80 to 100W ( size usually 32’ x 20 “)
- Optional Line Back-up: Input from a 16V AC, 75W class 2 transformer
- Station Battery: 12V at least 100AH (group 29 Marine deep cycle)
- Station Controller: A microprocessor based Charge controller for station battery charge as well as an Inverter
in AC type or a Boost converter/ charger for the scooter battery (usually 48V) in DC type.
- Vehicle Charge line: 115VAC outlet for AC type or charge cord directly connected to scooter in DC type.
- Scooter Charge algorithm (DC type): Constant Current (2A) followed by Constant Voltage. Charge is complete
when battery accepted current drops to 0.5A. It also does Automatic monthly equalization.
- LED Indications on the Controller: Sunny and Station battery Charging (Green), Station Battery Low (Red) ,
Scooter Charging (Amber) and Scooter Charge Complete (Green).
- Remote Report: A closed contact reports station troubles; Station Battery Low or incomplete scooter charge
interruption.
Solar Charger for Electric Boat / Scooter
- Charge your Electric Vehicle without paying for electricity
- Charge where there is no electricity (Lakeside, Farm, Cottage, etc.)
- Features Station Battery to charge the vehicle at night or cloudy days
- Both AC Output type (using vehicle's charger) or DC type (to charge EV
battery directly) are offered; specify upon order.
Private Solar Electric Car Charge Station
CHARGER-CONTROLLER TO BUILD YOUR ELECTRIC CAR CHARGE STATION
- Stores Daytime Sun energy, or off-peak utility power, in Station Battery for night EV Charge
- Both AC type (to use EV onboard Charger) or DC type (to EV battery directly) are offered.
- AC type converts station battery to 115VAC to feed EV onboard charger.
- DC type converts station battery voltage to proper value to charge the EV Battery directly.
- Microprocessor for handshakes and proper charge algorithm
Install 48V Solar Panels on your roof, truck, or a pole and add 168V- at least 100AH battery bank. Our
Charge-Station Controller will store daytime sun energy (and optionally wind energy or off-peak line
power) in the station battery. Then:
The AC type generates 115V AC output for an EV's on-board charger.
The DC type produces the proper DC voltage to charge EV (say 144V) battery directly.
Station Battery can be Lead-Acid or Lithium.
TO ORDER:
AC Type is ordered for any EV with an on-board 115V AC charger. It is universal in tis sense.
DC type is, however, ordered for your own EV battery voltage (specify) and its maximum charge
current. Models for 72V to 300V EV are available.
Basic Controller Price $890 for single quantity, Quantity Discounts apply.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Both types need:
• 48V - 200 to 1000W solar panels (one to five 48V -200W panels in parallel) .
• 168V at least 100AH Station Battery (~ 17 KWh).
With a 1KW solar panel, both types can charge the half-empty station battery in 9 hours. (Note: Do not
empty your battery more than half for its long life).
Both types also feature:
- Protections: 20A Fuses at all inputs / outputs as well as over-voltage&thermal shutdown
- Connections: Internal Terminal blocks for PV input and Station battery.
- For EV connection, AC type uses Standard AC outlet on AWG12 cord , or optional SAE J1772 cord.
DC type use Anderson connector on AWG12 cable.
- Indications: Local or Remote LEDs and Station battery charge Ammeter. In DC model, this
ammeter can be switched to show EV charge current too.
The differences between the 2 models are:
AC type Controller: has a high-efficiency 1.6 KW 168VDC to 115AC inverter. It will power the EV's
own onboard charger as if it is plugged to 115VAC line power.
DC Type Controller has an firmware steered 2KW DC-DC converter with charger output levels. For
example, in a 144V model, this converter will produce up to 180V out put and can charge a half-empty
144V-100AH EV in less than 4 hours.
